Acceptable use policy

A. Resource Usage

• The Shared Hosting Services provide web space for uploading pages/files to publish websites.
• “Unlimited” server space is provided for normal, routine “non-file-distribution” web usage. For websites distributing video, audio, or files, we may impose a bandwidth limit of 250GB per calendar month.
• Non-file-distribution usage is not affected by these limits.
• You may not:
  • Use more than 10% of processing capacity (e.g., via CGI scripts, FTP, PHP, or HTTP operations).
  • Run stand-alone, unattended processes or daemons (e.g., IRCd).
  • Run web spiders or indexers.
  • Run software interfacing with Internet Relay Chat networks.
  • Run bit torrent applications, trackers, or clients.
  • Engage in file-sharing or peer-to-peer activities.
  • Run gaming servers.
  • Schedule tasks outside our control panel.
  • Give away web space (including free websites).
  • Operate proxy services.
  • Use as remote file hosting for other sites.
  • Run self-hosted file sync/cloud storage (e.g., OwnCloud, Pydio, Sparkleshare).
• You must not use the Hosting Services as an offsite backup facility. Non-web-visible files may be deleted without notice.
• Websites stored on our servers will be indexed by search engines unless you prevent it. SEO practices must comply with guidelines from Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.
• MySQL databases are limited to 1024MB. You will be notified when this limit is reached.

B. Prohibited Uses

You may only use Hosting Services for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Breach any local, national, or international law/regulation.
• Engage in unlawful or fraudulent activity.
• Harm or attempt to harm minors.
• Send, receive, upload, or distribute material that violates our content standards.
• Transmit spam or unsolicited promotional material.
• Knowingly transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code.

C. Content Standards

All hosted material and interactive services must comply with these standards:

• Material must:
  • Be accurate (facts).
  • Be genuinely held (opinions).
  • Comply with UK law and any country where posted.
• Material must not:
  • Defame any person.
  • Be obscene, offensive, hateful, or inflammatory.
  • Contain pornography.
  • Promote violence or discrimination.
  • Infringe copyright, trademarks, or database rights.
  • Deceive or mislead.
  • Breach legal duties (e.g., confidentiality).
  • Encourage illegal activity.
  • Threaten, harass, or invade privacy.
  • Cause unnecessary distress, annoyance, or anxiety.
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation.
  • Give a false impression of endorsement by us.
  • Advocate unlawful acts (e.g., piracy, hacking).

D. Zero Tolerance Spam Policy

• We prohibit unsolicited emails, bulk mailing, and spam. Accounts may be terminated without notice.
• Websites advertised via spam may not be hosted. This includes spam sent via fax, phone, mail, email, instant messaging, or newsgroups.
• Accounts that cause IP blacklisting will be suspended or terminated immediately.
• We reserve the right to modify, disable, or remove non-compliant accounts, sites, or databases.
• We may charge account holders for cleanup fees or blacklist removal costs.

E. Suspension and Termination

We will decide, at our discretion, whether a breach of this policy has occurred. Breaches may result in actions including:

• Immediate, temporary, or permanent withdrawal of Hosting Services.
• Removal of hosted material.
• Issuance of warnings.
• Legal proceedings for reimbursement of costs.
• Further legal action.
• Disclosure to law enforcement authorities.

F. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time by amending this page. You are expected to check this page regularly, as changes are legally binding on you.

G. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Acceptable Use Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with this Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
